We are transplants to Northeast Ohio from California.  I know that may sound strange to some people but this is how it happened.  We were here on vacation visiting family and friends and decided to take a drive one afternoon.  As we were enjoying the beautiful countryside, we saw a sign on a telephone pole that said “farm”.  Well, in a matter of days, we bought the farm.

When we got home to California we were trying to decide what to do with our new farm.  We saw a television commercial about alpacas and that sparked our interest.  We researched alpacas on the internet and started visiting farms.  We made the move to Ohio in November of 2004 and started Ramblin Rose Alpacas six months later.

We are definitely a family business.  Our youngest son, Jason, lives here on the farm and is an essential part of the business.  Our oldest son, Steven, is career Army and he and his family are currently stationed at Fort Drum, New York.  Steven, our daughter-in-law Carol, and our grandson Steven, Jr., visit whenever they can and will be joining us on the farm when Steven retires in about three months.

There is plenty to keep us all busy caring and playing with the alpacas, putting up hay, working in the gift shoppe, and growing the business.
